Welcome to the Limes Class!! 

We are so excited that you and your child will be joining us in the LIMES classroom this year. Our classroom is a positive, language rich environment, created with each individual in mind. We believe that every child can succeed and as a first step, a child’s classroom should be a safe, warm and inviting place. 


This year the teachers in your child’s classroom are Frances (Lead Teacher) Israel (Teacher Assistant) and Lashonda (Teacher Assistant). 


To help your child feel comfortable in our classroom we have included a list of things that he/she will need to bring to school on the first day. 

  • Season appropriate change of clothes (including socks and underwear)- If we send home a change of clothes please send another back!! 

  • Pull ups with detachable sides- no diapers please (we provide wipes)

  • Any special feeding utensils or cups that your child will need

  • Full-size backpack

 

Important Things to Note

  • Please put your child’s name on everything!!!

  •  Please dress your child in PLAY clothes as the fashion police do not exist at Frankie Lemmon! This year we will be doing a lot of hands-on activities and will make efforts to keep the mess to a minimum; however, we do not want your child to be limited because of his/her attire. 

  • Please also remember to dress your child for the weather outside. We will be going outside every day unless it is raining or excessively hot or cold. Teachers will make judgment calls on a day-to-day basis.

Meet Your Teachers Mrs.Frances I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I received my undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and a Masters degree in Special Education from Auburn University. This is my 10th year teaching!! DECEMBER

 December     December has been a fun, full month in the Limes! We started the month with our Gingerbread theme and then learned about different Holidays. The pretend play center was transformed into a Gingerbread Bakery. It was a favorite! We added a Holiday tree to the center and they loved putting ornaments on it. They had the opportunity to build gingerbread houses in the block center as well. We counted gingerbread men and we tried gingerbread cookies. We learned about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We made patterns with Christmas objects and worked together in art to make a classroom Christmas tree. We talked about being kind and giving. We discussed ways we could be kind. This was my favorite activity of all! I loved seeing what they came up! September Newsletter

  September Newsletter            September has been such a WONDERFUL month in the Limes Class. We've really enjoyed getting to know the kids. They are a very smart bunch and they LOVE to learn. They have really enjoyed Morning Meeting, Letterland and Math.     This month we've really focused on counting, identifying numbers and identifying shapes. They are rocking it! We've also been focusing on identifying details in familiar stories and participating during story time by answering questions.  We will continue focusing on these skills throughout the quarter.       Art and the Pretend Play centers seem to the be most popular with the students. They have loved using all different types of materials to make art. We have done several collaborative art projects and it's been so great to see them work together.
