DECEMBER

December     December has been a fun, full month in the Limes! We started the month with our Gingerbread theme and then learned about different Holidays. The pretend play center was transformed into a Gingerbread Bakery. It was a favorite! We added a Holiday tree to the center and they loved putting ornaments on it. They had the opportunity to build gingerbread houses in the block center as well. We counted gingerbread men and we tried gingerbread cookies. We learned about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We made patterns with Christmas objects and worked together in art to make a classroom Christmas tree. We talked about being kind and giving. We discussed ways we could be kind. This was my favorite activity of all! I loved seeing what they came up! (ex: helping someone, giving a smile, giving a hug, holding the door).         We continued to focus on identifying  whether the number of objects in one group is more than, less than or equal to the numbe...

November Newsletter          This month we learned all about Space! The pretend play center was transformed into a Space Station. The students enjoyed dressing up as astronauts and playing in the rocket ship. The students enjoyed reading about space. We learned a lot about the sun! We learned about hot/cold and objects that will melt in the sun. The students worked together to paint the solar system.       During math small groups we focused on identifying  whether the number of objects in one group is more than, less than or equal to the number of objects in another group and c ounting out up to three objects from a larger set, pairing each object with a number name. The students have made great progress towards these objectives! This month we've focused on the letters C, O, and F. We've continued working on answering WH questions after a story is read.
